BARTLETT, Tenn. — Bruises and scratches have a 5-year-old little boy terrified of his own daycare.

Klassy Kids Academy on Elmore Park Road in Bartlett is being investigated after a young boy told his mom a worker hit him with what he called a “metal stick.”

A lawyer for Klassy Kids refused to comment about the incident, but did tell WREG they are cooperating fully with law enforcement.

Amy Rivero recorded video showing the bruises and long red scratches all over her son Naiden’s body.

“Somebody needs to be held accountable. If it was me, I’d be in jail, and my children would be taken away from me. It’s not fair what happened to him. He’s five,” Rivero said.

Rivero said she was told to come pick up Naiden Thursday afternoon.

“I got a call saying I needed to pick up my son, because he was misbehaving, and they couldn’t get him under control,” she explained.

Rivero said Naiden was crying and would not talk to her at first.

When she got home, she found out why.

“It was bath time. I took his shirt off,” she told WREG. “Then, we saw all the bruises on his shoulders, his arms, his back.”

Worse yet, Naiden told her it was no accident.

“One of the workers at Klassy Kids hit him with a metal stick. That’s what he said,” Rivero said.

Bartlett Police and DCS immediately began investigating.

Klassy Kids in Bartlett has no violations with the DHS, but they do have a zero star rating.

In March, allegations were made that an employee at the Klassy Kids on Getwell in Memphis touched a child inappropriately.

That was also being investigated by DHS.

Rivero said she wants someone to pay for her son’s pain and to make sure no other child has to experience what she says hers did.
