MEMPHIS, Tenn. — TDOT crews will be installing beams on the new I-40/240 flyovers this weekend. Crews will be closing various lanes Saturday and Sunday on I-40 east and on I-240. Depending on the weather, the work will take place between  6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The $109 million undertaking will widen Sam Cooper by one lane each way and add new west and eastbound I-40 ramps. I-240 from Walnut Grove to the interchange and from the interchange to Covington Pike will also be widened. The portions of I-40 on the interchange will become two lanes.
