NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lawyers across Tennessee are providing free legal services in October to mark “Celebrate Pro Bono Month.”

The Tennessee Bar Association said the initiative is in its seventh year and brings together legal services providers with local bar associations, law schools, law firms and individual lawyers to offer free services to people who can’t afford a lawyer.

Nearly 300 people are expected to volunteer this year, participating in more than 50 events and activities.
