Live at 9: Cooking with Chef Elle, City Council update & Explore Bike Share launch

Who will replace Spinoza?

We should learn on Tuesday who will fill the seat of former Memphis City Councilman Phillip Spinoza, who recently resigned to join the Chamber of Commerce.

Councilmen Kemp Conrad and Berlin Boyd talk about that plus give an update on the budget.

Explore Bike Share

This week you can expect to see something new on the streets of Memphis: bikes. Our new bike share program officially launches in Downtown Memphis Wednesday, with volunteers hopping on hundreds of bikes and riding them to the 60 bike stations scattered around the city.

Laura Andrews and Porsche Stevens talk about the big celebration on Live at 9.

Camp Bravehearts

Research shows children grieve the death of a loved one differently than adults and that’s why there are grief programs designed specifically for kids. Methodist Hospital holds Camp Bravehearts every year for kids from 6 to 16, and those who have experienced it say it does indeed make a difference.

Mark Smith talks more about the camp.

Keeping grilling simple with Chef Elle

For those who didn’t get their fill of outdoor cooking at the Memphis in May International Barbecue Championship, Chef Elle Green has some grilling advice.

Remember to keep it simple.
