SAVANNAH, Tenn. — On Wednesday, the jury charged with deciding the fate of the man accused of murdering Holly Bobo in cold blood heard new details from some of the people who helped search for the 20-year-old nursing student after she went missing. Early in the day, an acquaintance of the Bobo family testified he saw the defendant, Zachary Adams, vacuuming a truck for over an hour. He then grabbed a hose to wash down two mattresses leaning against the house. It’s the second time the jury has heard similar testimony describing Adams’ actions after police left his home the day Bobo disappeared. One by one, prosecutors continued to call witnesses, introducing new evidence collected as the search for the missing student lingered on. One man talked about how he discovered what is presumed to be Bobo’s lunch box while another detailed his discovery of a pink pair of underwear and a wadded up piece of paper with the victim’s name and address clearly written on it.

All of the items were found near the home of Shayne Austin— one of the original suspects who committed suicide two years ago. Investigators also recovered a sim card, an inhaler, Holly’s phone, an earring and her purse containing pencils, a trump drive, keys and lipstick among other items. But the most anticipated testimony of the morning came from Larry Stone, the man who ultimately discovered Bobo’s skull. He told the jury he was out digging for ginseng when something caught his eye. “A feeling came over me — something just told me, ‘Turn around.'” That’s when he saw a human skull which later was identified as Bobo’s. “I was just bawling because I thought well he’s not going to come. So finally he come up there and I looked at him and said ‘Please tell me that’s one of them things they use in school and it’s not real.’ He kind of looked at it and said ‘It’s real’, and then that’s when I looked at him and said ‘You know who this could be right?'” While all of the evidence showed a trial of Bobo’s disappearance, prosecutors have not made a direct connection between her death and Adams.   WREG will have LIVE coverage of the proceedings on our website and Facebook.
