Local dealership cleaning up after cars vandalized

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A few hours before services got started early Sunday morning, BB Security noticed a suspicious looking car and called police.

It turned out that car may have been connected to some crimes just across the street.

Monday, a Toyota dealer spend the morning cleaning up smashed cars and looking for stolen keys.

Police told WREG they responded to the call shortly before 5 a.m. and found a car with a fake VIN number, tools for a break in and lots of keys.

According to reports, the suspect(s) broke into the dealership, stole the keys and then damaged two of the cars.

None were stolen.

Police said the Toyota Dealership was using surveillance video to see if they could identify the criminals.

Local businesses in the area said they would keep a watchful eye out too for suspicious activity after this.
