MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis realty advertisement is capitalizing on what’s become an entertaining presidential campaign season.
The ad features local realtor Vinh Le and says, “Leaving the country if TRUMP is elected President? Give me a call and LET’S GET YOUR HOME SOLD!”
WREG sat down with Monty Montgomery, who designed a few ads for Le, his friend. He posted them on social media.
“So many celebrities are saying that they’re going to leave the country if so and so is elected, and so, we came up with these three marketing ploys to just kind of drum up some business. I made a Bernie one, a Hillary one and a Trump one, and for whatever reason, people think the Trump one is the funniest,” Montgomery said.
Montgomery said the ads are making the rounds online.
WREG showed them to folks around Memphis and asked for their reactions.
“Leaving the country if Trump is elected president. Oh wow. Well, I could see why,” said Memphis resident Katina Lewis.
“If that’s the only alternative I’ve got, I’d vote for him [Trump]. I’m surely not going to vote for Hillary,” said Jerry Sims, who is visiting from out of town.
“There’s part of me that would want to go to Canada right away,” said Fr. Eric Peterson, chuckling.
WREG reached out to the Trump campaign for comment but have not heard back. A Trump supporter who runs the “Tennessee for Donald Trump 2016” Facebook page said his only takeaway from the ad would be that if you are looking to sell your house, “give Vinh Le a call.”
