MEMPHIS, Tenn. –A Memphis teen has reportedly pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of a 78-year-old man.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, 15-year-old Alzavius Fultz was sentenced to 25 years in prison with no parole.
In October 2013, Johnny Hurley was found with a head injury in the Glenview Park on South Barksdale.
His wallet and other personal items were scattered across the park.
Hurley died five months later.
During the investigation, officials connected Fultz to the crime.
He later told police he repeatedly punched the older man in the head as he tried to rob him.
Fultz, who was 14 at the time, then went through the victim’s belonging but didn’t find any cash.
