Woman shot 11 times identifies alleged shooter

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An arrest has been made in a 2023 shooting that ended with a woman being shot 11 times in North Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Rashada Johnson, 23, is charged with criminal attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm/dangerous felony.

On December 21, 2023, officers say they responded to an aggravated assault call on Springdale Street. A female victim was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim stated she was involved in a fight with a woman earlier. The woman reportedly told her boyfriend “Buster,” later identified as Rashada Johnson, that the victim hit her child during the fight.

MPD says the victim was walking on Springdale Street when several cars filled with people pulled up beside her. The victim said when she recognized “Buster” as one of the people getting out of the car, she began to run.

That is when Johnson alongside several others started firing shots at the victim. She was shot 11 times, according to reports.

The shooters then left the scene before police arrived.

On December 28, the victim was able to positively identify Johnson as one of the people responsible for shooting her.

Rashada Johnson is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning. He is being held on a $175,000 bond.
