UPDATE: A 15-year-old has been arrested in this incident. He is being charged with two counts of theft of property, burglary of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, and reckless driving.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person has been charged after a police chase ended in a crash in Hickory Hill early Wednesday, leaving one person injured.

Shelby County Sheriffs say they spotted a stolen Kia just after midnight. Deputies attempted to stop the Kia but they say the driver fled and eventually struck another vehicle at Winchester and Kirby.

The driver was taken into custody. The victim who was struck was taken to St. Francis in non-critical condition.

Deputies say the driver who caused the crash was in a Kia that was stolen from southeast Shelby County Tuesday morning

Several vehicles were stolen from the area around Turn Bow Lane and Shandy Drive. The owner of one vehicle confronted the suspects and there was a shootout.
