MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A family has identified the 15-year-old who was killed in a shooting near a Berclair neighborhood on Sunday.
The victim was identified by his family as Michael Aguilar.
Police responded to the shooting just before 6 p.m. in the 3900 block of Macon, police said. Aguilar was taken to Regional One in critical condition, where he died from his injuries.
It was later confirmed that the shooting took place in the 3900 block of Grahamdale. The victim’s family told WREG his brother drove him to a nearby fire station for help.
Police later said the victim was 15 years old, and the incident may have been an attempted robbery.

WREG was told by Aguilar’s family that he rarely left the house, but on Sunday, he went to a store nearby. His family says he was a shy kid and was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
