MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have released surveillance pictures of several people who walked out of a City Gear Thursday afternoon with armloads of merchandise.
Investigators said at least seven people were involved in the shoplifting Thursday afternoon at the City Gear in the 2900 block of Lamar.

They said the group stole a large amount of merchandise but have not released a dollar amount.
In the photos, you can see the masked suspects leaving with clothing and boxes of shoes.
In December, the owners of City Gear said they were adding dogs and live cameras and asking the Governor for help following several overnight break-ins at their Memphis stores.
Hibbett, City Gear’s parent company, said the Memphis area stores were burglarized more than 60 times in 2023. At the time, corporate managers told WREG they were still committed to the community.
“What we’re experiencing here in Memphis is a bit unusual,” said Mark Gunn, the senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Hibbett City Gear.
WREG contacted Hibbett about the thefts Thursday but have not heard back from anyone.
