‘I’ll kill you’: Man accused of firing shots at 2 sisters

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is now in jail after police say he threatened to kill a woman before firing shots at her and her sister in North Memphis last month.

Elijah Cook, 20, is charged with criminal attempt first-degree murder and employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony.

Officers say it started on March 13, when they were called to an aggravated assault at a home in the 2300 block of Deovy Avenue.

A man at the home told police his daughter called him and stated that a man, later identified as Elijah Cook, was inside his home without permission. That is when the man says he came home and found Cook in his other daughter’s bedroom.

Cook was then asked to leave the home. While leaving, Cook allegedly walked past the two daughters outside and told one of the sisters, “I’ll kill you b****.”

At that time, Cook was accused of pulling out a black gun and pointing it at the sisters before firing four shots at them. Both sisters ran to the back of the house for safety before going in the house and calling the police.

The father and his two daughters identified Cook in a photographic lineup as the suspect in the incident.

Elijah Cook is due in court on Tuesday morning. His bond has yet to be set.
