MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Southaven Police say there was an attempted kidnapping in a neighborhood Thursday.

According to reports, around 6 a.m., police received a complaint of an aggravated domestic assault and kidnapping on Tangletree Drive and Tchulahoma Road. Neighbors say that officers would not allow anyone in or out of the community during that time.

The victim was able to escape and notify police.

Uniform Patrol, SWAT, and the Crisis Negotiations Team made the scene. The suspect surrendered to officers.
