MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One man is in critical condition following an overnight shooting at Ubees restaurant on the Highland Strip.
According to Memphis Police, the shooting happened late Thursday night around 11:40 p.m. Officers say no victim was found on the scene when they arrived.
Shortly afterward, a man in critical condition arrived at Methodist North Hospital. MPD says the shooting started after a physical altercation in the restaurant.
This was the second shooting in less than two months at the popular restaurant near the University of Memphis. Last month, two men were detained after a man was shot outside of Ubee’s and rushed to the hospital.
This spring, students at the university were put on lockdown after a man fired a shot a Memphis television studio, then barricaded himself in Ubee’s restroom.
We reached out to Ubee’s and were told they have no comment.
