MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man accused of killing his 19-year-old girlfriend and unborn baby in 2020 has been found guilty of murder, according to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.

Joshua Dotson, 24, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder after a verdict was reached on Thursday.

During the three-day trial, at least ten witnesses provided “crucial testimonies” in the case, reports state.

Dotson fatally shot 19-year-old Jamesha Covson at her South Memphis home following an argument due to a Facebook post and her pregnancy.

After the shooting, Covson was rushed to the hosptial with her unborn child where they both were pronoucned dead.

The District Attorney’s office says Dotson’s sentencing is forthcoming.
