MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 15-year-old boy is dead after someone fired shots at a Whitehaven home in what neighbors believe was a targeted attack.

Police were called to a home on Kirkwood Road off Millbranch just after midnight early Friday. The victim was rushed to a hospital after the shooting, but did not survive.

A neighbor who didn’t want to be identified said they witnessed at least one person walk up to the garage, take aim and begin unloading a weapon.

“We are talking about big and fast,” the witness said. “Like, whoever, they were coming to kill somebody.”

The home where this all happened is equipped with several cameras that might point investigators in the direction of a lethal shooter.

Police have not identified the victim, and have not specified a possible motive. Neighbors said they believe it was a retaliation for another deadly shooting.
