MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man out on bond for domestic assault injured his wife in a shooting in South Memphis on Saturday, Memphis police say.
Ahmad Sam, 33, was charged with two counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder, Domestic Assault, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony, and Violation of Bail Conditions. His bond has been set at $800,000.
On April 19, at 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of Genesis Circle.
Police say they located a woman, and she was transported to Regional One in critical condition. A second victim, a man, was uninjured during the incident.
According to MPD, the woman’s husband, Sam, was responsible for the shooting. He was out on bond for Domestic Assault and was not allowed to possess a firearm.
At 8:19 p.m., officers located Sam in the 1600 block of Union Avenue and arrested him.
Ahmad Sam is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
