MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is now dead after police said she was shot to death by her boyfriend in Whitehaven early Thursday morning.
Officers say they responded to a shooting call in the 3000 block of Sullivan Drive around 6:30 a.m. A female victim was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, where she later died.
Her boyfriend, Jeremy Buffington, was taken into custody on the scene.
Buffington, 30, is charged with second-degree murder. He is due in court on April 14 at 9 a.m.
