MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after being shot in South Memphis Monday morning, police said.

Memphis Police responded at 10:51 Monday to the 1600 block of Patton Street.

A man was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe it was the result of a carjacking, and the shooter drove off in the victim’s truck, a 2004 White F-150 extended cab with a broken rear right brake light and a dented front bumper.

MPD says if you do come across that white F150, you should not approach the car or driver but call MPD immediately.
