MEMPHIS, Tenn.– We’re working to learn more after a spokesperson with the Minnesota Timberwolves says a member of the NBA teams’ “traveling party” was robbed.

This past weekend, the City of Memphis put in place new security measures to ensure everyone’s safety downtown. However, it wasn’t enough to scare off all criminals.

The Timberwolves took on the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday afternoon in game one of the playoffs.

When we reached out to Memphis Police about a robbery following the game, they sent us information about a man robbed at knife point around 6:40 p.m.

A spokesperson with the NBA team told WREG, “We are aware of the incident. A report has been filed and Memphis PD will continue the investigation.”

According to a police report, the victim is ok but the robber got away with twenty dollars.

WREG later found out that the victim was listed as 20-year-old Raymond Siegfried, according to documents.

Memphis Police told us investigators were working to figure out where the incident occurred Downtown because the victim was unsure, but filed the police report from his Downtown hotel on Beale Street.

No suspects have been arrested as MPD says the incident is still under investigation.

‘’The investigation into the alleged April 16th robbery of an individual in the downtown area is ongoing. Investigators have interviewed the victim, searched for potential witnesses, and at this time, have not been able to verify the facts of this incident. Additionally, detectives have combed over video from the area and have yet to locate a subject matching the description of the described suspect,” said Chief Communications Officer Ursula Madden.
