MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman told police she came home to find a man with a chainsaw in her driveway, trying to force his way into her vehicle.

Cordarius Fisher, 31, is charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and theft of merchandise less than $1,000.

On February 13, officers say the victim was sitting in her car parked outside her home when she saw Cordarius Fisher at her house without her permission. He then began to approach her car with a chainsaw in his hand.

Fisher repeatedly tried to force his way into her car by pulling on the door handles and using the chainsaw to hit the driver’s side window, which caused damage, police say.

The victim said she drove to the other side of the house before Fisher could get into her car and watched him as he stood in her driveway with the chainsaw.

When officers arrived, they said they saw a brick that was used to shatter a rear window to get inside of the house.

The victim said this is the second time that Fisher burglarized her home by shattering the same window just a month ago. He was arrested in that case, according to reports.

Police reports did not specify where the alleged attack happened or what the relationship between Fisher and the victim might be. Fisher’s address was listed on North Trezevant.

On February 14, the victim was able to give a police statement and positively identify Fisher in a six-person lineup.

Fisher is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.
