UPDATE: MPD said two 16-year-old were charged with reckless endangerment in this case.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people were shot, one confirmed dead, in a shooting Tuesday at a gas station at Shelby Drive and Tulane Road, Memphis Police said.

Police said one man was dead at the scene, another man found on Wesley Drive was in critical condition and a woman was in non-critical condition.

The suspects drove off but wrecked their vehicle at Raines Road and Graceland.

Police have two people detained. No arrests have been made.

Investigators haven’t said why the shooting happened but did tell WREG the suspects might be teens.

Clennon Saulsberry is the pastor at New Nonconnah Missionary Baptist church across from the gas station. He says he’s trying to preach non-violence to young men by working with several Whitehaven schools.

“They are our future and at the rate they’re killing each other there won’t be a future for our young boys,” Pastor Saulsberry said.

It is unclear if the two people detained will be charged.
