MEMPHIS, Tenn.– Four people are hurt and two people are in custody after a police chase near the airport Wednesday afternoon.

According to Memphis Police, officers attempted to approach a black Infiniti G37 in the 4100 block of Millbranch around 5 p.m. when the vehicle took off, striking an MPD squad car and several other vehicles in the parking lot.

Police said the driver also drove toward an officer. This caused the officer to land on the hood of the car. Another officer fired his weapon toward the suspects.

The suspects fled the scene and, according to police, no one was shot. However, the officer that landed on the hood of the Infiniti was transported to Regional One in non-critical condition.

Authorities were seen searching for the suspects in the area of Tchulahoma Road and Morningview Drive.

Police said that’s where the Infiniti crashed into three other vehicles while officers pursued the suspects. Two men got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away, but they were taken into custody after a short chase.

The drivers of two vehicles that were hit by the suspect’s Infiniti were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. An officer was also injured during the foot chase and treated at the scene.

There is no word on what led police to approach the Infiniti or any charges the suspects may face at this time.
