MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mississippi law enforcement agencies are reportedly searching for a murder suspect in northern Mississippi.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department says 21-year-old Quenten Cortez Taylor is wanted for a double homicide in Crenshaw, Mississippi. The shooting happened in October.

Horn Lake Police reportedly received a tip stating Taylor was spotted in the area of Laurelwood and Shadow Oaks. The sheriff’s department says Taylor ran away when officers arrived.

Horn Lake Police and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department searched for Taylor at an apartment complex in the area.

Sheila Crunk is a friend of the man who lives in a house on Laurelwood Drive. According to Crunk the man, who didn’t want to be interviewed, was awakened early Thursday morning by the sound of a prowler.

“He heard somebody go in the back shed, cause he could hear the door open,” she said. “He got up, checked the front door, the side windows, back door and nothin’. He couldn’t see anything.”

Police believe the “prowler” was in fact Taylor. Police say Taylor jumped fences and ran through backyards, like the one at the home of Crunk’s friend.

“And they searched the backyard and they didn’t find him, but they found a gun laying in the backyard,” Crunk said.

Police say the gun was confirmed to be stolen out of Tunica, Mississippi.

Taylor did take to social media, proclaiming, “I don’t give a [expletive]…what nobody say IM INNOCENT [expletive].”

Southaven Police responded, saying, “Please come in and give us your side of the story.”

The sheriff’s department says Taylor is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is urged to call police immediately.
