MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  A triple shooting in Southwest Memphis leaves two dead and one injured.

“We had to get on the floor because we didn’t know what it was but we knew it was close.” A neighbor told us.

This woman didn’t want to be identified but said she heard gunshots ringing through Masterson cove overnight.

“They were just shooting. Like it was a young war or something,” the woman said.

Memphis police said they responded to a shooting at a home around 10 pm on Thursday. Police said they found three gunshot victims, including a 22-year-old woman who had been killed.

The others were rushed to the hospital, but a 33-year-old man later died from his injuries. The third victim, a 64-year-old woman, is expected to be ok.

Officers spent several hours on the scene gathering evidence and speaking to neighbors.

Memphis Police said this was the result of a murder-suicide. MPD said the man broke into the home, shot both women, and then turned the gun on himself.

Neighbors said the suspect was the deceased victim’s ex-boyfriend.  One neighbor who didn’t want to go on camera said both women are related and one of them was shot while trying to protect the other from the suspect.

Police confirm this was a domestic incident. Memphis police have not released a motive for the shooting.

At this time, Memphis police have not released the identities of the victims or the suspect.
