CORRECTION: Memphis police originally reported that a victim in the Airport Area died from a shooting. MPD later confirmed that the man survived and is in non-critical condition.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Four people have died and one person was sent to the hospital after being shot in five separate shootings over the weekend.
On Friday night, a 49-year-man was shot and killed in Orange Mound on his way home from work. The incident happened at Kimball and Kimball Cove around 11 p.m.
Another shooting occurred in Frayser on Saturday evening around 5 p.m. Police say a man was found dead at the scene.
Several hours later, police were called to the 1700 block of Hunter Avenue in North Memphis around 1 a.m. where they located a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
She was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition.
Police responded to another shooting around 3 a.m. at a bar and grill in Hickory Hill where one person was found dead at the scene.
One hour later, MPD responded to a shooting in Southeast Memphis on the 4400 block of Mendenhall.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, no suspect information is available for any of these incidents.
Another man was injured near the airport area after he told officers he was beaten with a pistol.
