MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot and killed Saturday night in Whitehaven, according to Memphis Police.
The shooting happened on the 5400 block of Elvis Presley Boulevard at Winfield Avenue around 10:00 p.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later said that the victim was 19 years old.
A man who did not want to be identified says he wants more to be done in the community.
“Why doesn’t Ben Crump start coming into your town and start getting on your *^*^ for not saying nothing,” he said.
He also said he wants to see activists who have been on a national stage become more proactive rather than reactive.
“Al Sharpton, Ben Crump and all of them want to come after the fact, but they don’t want to say nothing when you have people killing people,” he said.
No arrests have been made. This is an ongoing investigation.
