SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — One person was killed and another injured in a homicide in the Cordova area early Friday, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies were in vestigating a homicide they say happened around 1:20 a.m. in the 7000 block of Thorn Tree Lane.

One person was taken to Regional One in critical condition, while another person was pronounced dead.

The crime scene is located in a gated community near Cordova Road and Appling Road. A neighbor who said she’d lived in the area more than 20 years described it as quiet.

So far, the sheriff’s office has not released any information on the victims, suspect or motive in the case.
