MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Sunday, a man is dead after being shot outside of a gas station near the Medical District along Crump Boulevard.
This shooting happened around 12:00 in evening and within minutes, Memphis police were on the scene.
There was a heavy presence from law enforcement, and our crew on scene noticed multiple evidence markers, shell casings and even a gun.
MPD told us that when they arrived, they found a man who had been shot in critical condition.
He was taken to the hospital but did not survive his injuries.
Police have detained a person of interest but have not yet said if they will face any charges.
Neighbors said the violence in community is getting out of hand and they want to see immediate changes.
Currently, Memphis is on pace to surpass last year record number homicides, as the year comes to an end.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
