MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in critical condition Saturday morning after what police are calling an “altercation” near Audubon Park, and police are looking for the suspects.

Police first reported that the man had been shot. Several hours later, police corrected that and said the man had been hurt in a physical altercation, but was not shot.

Police responded to the 700 block of Watson Street at 6 a.m. A male victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition.

Two suspects in dark clothing fled in a light-colored SUV, possibly gold or silver, with “large rear tires,” police said.
