MEMPHIS, Tenn.– Police were on the scene of a shooting outside a Target store in Olive Branch Friday afternoon.

According to Olive Branch police, the incident started on Getwell when a group of guys started following a 17-year-old DeSoto Central student.

Police say the group followed the 17-year-old boy to Target on Goodman Road and started shooting in the parking lot.

They missed the teen’s car but the bullets hit the store and shattered a few windows. At one point, the store was locked down and closed, creating frightful moments for those like McKenzie Moore who were inside waiting for officers to arrive.

“We all had to be at the back of the store, like where the fitting rooms were we were all crammed back there,” Moore said. “It was actually really scary because it was quiet and everybody was nervous.”

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but customers like Brittany Sesma say their sense of security has been broken.

“I’m from Corinth, Mississippi so it was I guess a little terrifying that we came all the way over here because we thought it was a safe area,” Sesma said.

Police have not released any suspect information. If you have any information, call DeSoto County Crime Stoppers at 662-429-TIPS.
