MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two retired Memphis firefighters are contestants on “The Amazing Race,” which premieres on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on WREG Channel 3.
The show involves teams racing across the world to be the first to reach the finish line and win a cash prize.
Mark Graham and Larry Crawford, best friends for almost 40 years, will participate in season 37 of The Amazing Race.
“So much bad stuff happens all the time, so when you get to her about two old down-to-earth guys getting to travel the world,” said Graham, “It’s a pretty neat experience not many get to do what we’ve done.”
The hometown heroes are hosting a watch party at Side Car Café.
“You have to be within 20 feet of your partner the whole time, and it lasts days if you keep advancing, so you better like who you are with,” said Graham.
Mark lives in Bartlett and recently got a shoutout from the Barlett Police Department to remind Memphians the duo will appear on the show Wednesday night.
“People don’t realize almost 50,000 people apply every year for this show and they hired 28, so it’s a pretty big honor to be accepted,” said Graham.
