MEMPHIS, Tenn.– A man has been charged after a woman was stabbed to death on Wednesday night, Shelby County Sherriff’s Department said.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was transported to Regional One in critical condition after an “apparent dispute” in the 4000 block of Shelby Road just before 7 p.m.
The disagreement turned deadly, after a investigators say a woman who was rushed to the hospital did not survive. One person was detained on the scene.
The woman, identified as Laura Christie, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The sheriff’s office released video of the scene on Twitter.
The sheriff’s office confirmed on Thursday that Jeremiah Carlisle is responsible for the incident. He is being charged with first degree murder.
Carlisle is set to face a judge for the first time Friday morning.
