MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Multiple people were arrested after a shooting at a Covington apartment complex over the weekend, according to the Covington Police Department.
On Saturday, officers responded to reports of shots fired at the Broadmeadows Apartment Complex at 150 Peeler Road around 4 a.m.
The CPD says no one was injured in the shooting, but a vehicle with multiple bullet holes was found on the scene, along with a large group of people gathering in the area.
Reports say Eric McGee Jr., 29, was identified as a suspect. He allegedly admitted to his role in the shooting incident and told police he hid from them at the apartment complex and threw the gun he used into the Hatchie River.

McGee Jr. was charged with Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism, and Tampering with Evidence. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
Police detained multiple people on the scene for questioning, including David Jones Jr., 25, and James Pearson, 30, who were trying to leave the apartment complex.

Police say the two were involved in an argument prior to the shooting. They recovered 36.1 grams of marijuana from the car and both men were charged for the drugs.
The CPD also arrested 32-year-old Lawrence Brent, who was walking in the area of the shooting scene. He was charged with public intoxication and taken to the Tipton County Jail.
Jones, Pearson, and Brent were released without bond.
