MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shots rang out in the parking lot of Topgolf Wednesday night, according to Memphis Police.
MPD says shots were fired in the 3400 block of South Germantown Road at 9 p.m.
According to reports, a white Nissan Altima entered the parking lot and fired shots at a white Mercedes and a red Jeep Track Hawk. Police say the white Mercedes appeared to have fired shots back at the Altima.
The cars reportedly exited the parking lot in multiple directions.
A woman advised police that when she came out of Topgolf, she noticed that the temporary tags on her truck had been damaged.
Reports say that two bullets went into the truck and came out the other side, causing four bullet holes in the vehicle.
Officers also reportedly found 14 .40 caliber spent shell casings in the back of the Topgolf parking lot.
No injuries were reported.
In response, Topgolf says it will be adding more security measures at the venue.
This is the second reported incident in the three weeks since the location’s grand opening. MPD says they responded to a fight at Topgolf just last week.
“It’s not that long it’s been here and crime is already happening there. People [are going to] stop bringing stuff to Memphis,” said Jackie Tapplin, a concerned Memphian.
Tapplin says she hoped to visit the multi-million dollar entertainment complex with her family. Now, this is yet another business in Memphis impacted by crime.
“The police department, the mayor, they have to get together and do something,” she said.
WREG reached out to both Mayor Strickland and Chief Davis, and they agreed.

“It’s a problem that MPD can not wrap our arms around alone. Everybody has to do their part. Everybody,” said Davis.
“The court system needs fundamental change to adjust to what’s going on out in the community,” said Strickland.
Topgolf released a statement on the incident Thursday afternoon, saying in part that it is working closely with the Memphis Police Department.
