MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man says he was shot at his Whitehaven home Friday morning after being set up by a woman he met on a dating site, Memphis Police say.

Officers responded to a house in the 1200 block of Dolan Drive, close to Elvis Presley Boulevard, regarding the shooting around 3:30 a.m. A man was found on the scene and taken to Regional One in critical condition.

Reports say the victim told police he was supposed to meet up with a woman he met on a dating site. They agreed to meet at his house after he sent $5 to a Cash App she gave him.

The woman reportedly arrived at his house in a light-colored Chevrolet truck. When the victim got into the truck on the passenger side, police say a man in the back seat attacked him from behind.

The victim was able to escape from the truck but was then shot at by the woman. He was walking up his driveway when the man fired two shots at him, hitting him once.

Police say after he was shot, the man and the victim got into a physical fight outside the home. Eventually, the man and woman left the scene in the Chevrolet truck.

No suspect information is available at this time.
