MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Six people were hospitalized following a shooting that started in Northeast Memphis and ended in Raleigh overnight.
Memphis police say the incident began at the BP gas station at Raleigh LaGrange and Sycamore view around midnight.
Police said 19-year-old Reginald Felix, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old were in a stolen Infiniti SUV when they were shot at the BP gas station. Police say a fourth victim was also shot and taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
The three teens then went to the Tanglewood Apartments nearby where a 14-year-old and a 25-year-old got inside the car and attempted to take them to Methodist North hospital.

As they were approaching Methodist North, shots were fired at the Infiniti by unknown suspects in a dark-colored vehicle in the area of New Covington Pike and Austin Peay just before 1 a.m. The five victims then ran to the hospital and abandoned the car.
Four of the victims were then transported to Regional One Hospital and two juveniles were taken to Le Bonheur.
Pictures from a WREG photographer show a car riddled with bullet holes with all four doors open in the middle of Covington Pike outside the hospital. Detectives were seen collecting over 40 evidence markers.
A semi-automatic rifle was found on the ground next to one of the pumps at the BP gas station near the corner of Raleigh LaGrange and Sycamore view. Police later confirmed that this scene was related to the shooting.
Officers located the stolen white Infiniti QX50 that had a part of the gas pump hanging from the gas tank. The SUV was stolen out of Collierville.
The hospital was put on lockdown for several hours and began allowing people to leave shortly before 3 a.m. Roads surrounding the hospital were blocked off but have now reopened.
In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, Methodist LeBonheur spokesperson Sarah Farley said no shots were fired on or near the hospital campus.
Police say, Felix, the 17-year-old, and the 16-year will be charged with theft of property $10,000-$60,000.
The other three victims remain in the hospital.
Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) released a statement following the overnight shooting.
“This must stop. We just lost two of our community leaders in Whitehaven. These shootings seem like regular, everyday occurrences. But they can’t be. It’s a danger to every Memphian and a danger to Memphis as a city. I will continue to fight for gun safety legislation at the federal level and join all of the local officials in making a commitment to support more funding and support to stop the killing. My thoughts go out to the victims’ families and loved ones,” Cohen said.
