State board dismisses Taylor complaint against Mulroy

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A complaint against Shelby County District Attorney General Steve Mulroy filed by Sen. Brent Taylor has been dismissed.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee sent a response to the complaint Feb. 5, stating that it was dismissed after a review.

According to Mulroy, the board “determined that the complaint lacked merit and has closed the matter with no further action.”

“Sen. Taylor has spent months publicly discussing the many ethical complaints he’s filed against me,” Mulroy said in a statement. “But what he hasn’t told the public is that the Board of Professional Responsibility has dismissed those complaints.”

Mulroy said another complaint filed by Taylor is under review by the board.

Taylor is pushing at the state level for Mulroy’s removal from office.
