MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect has been arrested by U.S. marshals in the case of a woman who was found stabbed to death in a Memphis motel earlier this month.
Styrone Walker, 36, was captured Friday morning at a home in the 2000 block of Jackson Heights Cove in West Memphis, Arkansas. He is being held in the Crittenden County jail and is awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

Walker is the suspect in the murder of Angelica Taylor, 38, whose body was found on Jan. 2 at the Star Lite Inn on South Third Street.

The family said they began looking for Taylor at the Star Lite Inn after her boyfriend, whom they identified as Walker, began posting cryptic messages on his Facebook page about the motel, and that’s when they learned she was dead.
Family members told WREG they did not find out about Taylor’s death on January 4 after the family had requested a wellness check. She was allegedly found the same day officers told them Taylor was alive and well.
Taylor’s mother, Angela Taylor, said her daughter was a sweet child killed for no reason, and she was glad her alleged killer had been caught.
“It’s one thing when someone has died of sickness or something, but to be killed? That’s a different thing. It’s a feeling I have no words for,” said Angela.
Taylor’s cousin, who did not want to be identified, said the last few weeks had been a blur, and she was relieved Walker was in custody.
“I was just questioning whether it would ever be solved or were going to be one of those families asking for help years later,” she said. I know we don’t have a conviction yet, but I feel like this is a step in the right direction.”
Family members said Taylor temporarily moved into a rooming house in Whitehaven after a fire at her apartment, and that’s where she met Walker.
“I’m thankful you guys got her story out there because there were a lot of questions about why she was at a hotel and why she was in a rooming house, and it was hard to cope with that,” said Taylor’s cousin. “This wasn’t just a throwaway person.”
Taylor left behind two teenage children.
Shelby County court records show Walker was arrested in 2022 and 2017 for domestic violence.
