MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people were arrested after leading officers on a chase from Memphis to Southaven Wednesday afternoon.
According to Memphis Police, officers initiated a pursuit of a carjacked vehicle before 5 p.m.
As MPD officers entered Southaven, they notified Southaven Police that they were chasing a vehicle south on I-55. According to Southaven Police, the vehicle was reported to have been taken during an armed carjacking.
During the pursuit, the suspects threw a rifle out the window on I-55 before exiting on Goodman Road with MPD officers still in pursuit.
Police say the suspect vehicle turned north on Airways Boulevard and crashed into a civilian vehicle.
After the crash, the three suspects, identified as Anthony Jones, Eldridge Buford, and Alvin Armstrong, ran out of the vehicle. Southaven officers assisted Memphis officers with taking the trio into custody.
All three men are charged with receiving stolen property in Southaven and are awaiting extradition back to Memphis for their charges.
