MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An investigation into a Covington, Tennessee, man making terroristic threats led to his arrest on Thursday.

Aireiz Macklin, 32, is charged with two active warrants from Davidson County: Violation of an Order of Protection and Theft of Services under $1,000.

On April 11, the Covington Police Department says they received information from Nashville Metro Police Department Detectives about an investigation into a Covington man making terroristic threats.

Nashville Police say a man, later identified as Aireiz Macklin, was making threats to harm the Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk and damage the Davidson County Courthouse.

That is when the Covington Police began to work alongside the Nashville Police.

On April 17, the Covington Police say they found Macklin in the 1800 block of South College and arrested him.

Macklin is currently being held in the Tipton County Jail, awaiting extradition to Nashville.

Detectives say they expect additional charges due to the threat investigation.

Covington Police say this is still an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Covington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 901-475-1261.
