MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man accused of shooting a Memphis officer Friday morning has a juvenile record in Fayette County, court documents show.
Memphis police say Geronimo Kee,22, shot an officer four times when he was pulled over for speeding on I-240 near South Parkway.

But, despite a juvenile charge several years ago, a neighbor recalled him as “not a bad person.”
He is now facing charges of criminal attempt first-degree murder, intentionally evade arrest in auto, employ firearm with intent to commit felony, and speeding.
When WREG arrived at the address connected to Kee, his grandmother answered the door. She said she was just learning about the shooting and did not want to talk.
Daniel Ngu lives next door to Kee’s grandmother. He says Kee seems like a nice and quiet person.
“Yes, sometime I saw him come visit his grandparents. I think he drove a black Nissan or something,” said Ngu. “He’s not a bad person from what I’ve seen.”
Kee was taken into custody about a mile from where the shooting happened.
The Nissan was found on Dempster Street in South Memphis with a smashed window, which according to police, indicates gunfire hit the window.
“You mentioned just now he’s involved in a police shooting and it’s just sad, especially nowadays with a lot of crime going on,” said Ngu.
WREG looked into Kee’s background. Nothing shows up in Shelby County adult court, but in Fayette County, Kee was one of 11 charged in a disturbance at Wilder Youth Development Center when he was 18 years old.

He faced a charge of vandalism, escaping custody of an officer, and inciting a riot after a disturbance.
Authorities say several housing pods were damaged in the incident and cinder blocks were used to break windows, doors, security mirrors and security cameras.
We asked Shelby county juvenile court what landed him in Wilder, but under state law, there was no information they could release.
Police say he has an injury to his hand, but it’s not known if it was from gunfire or glass fragments.
The officer is currently in critical, but stable condition.
