MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is now recovering after police say she arrived at a police station in Whitehaven Sunday night with a gunshot wound in the face.
According to Memphis Police, just before 9:20 p.m., a woman walked into Raines Road precinct suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of her jaw.
Police say the shooting started when the victim’s ex-boyfriend allegedly showed up and assaulted her.
The victim says when she attempted to leave in her vehicle, the suspect followed her and began to fire shots. She says she did not know where she was shot at, but that she felt pain in her face and head.
After arriving at the police station, she was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition where she was later downgraded to non-critical.

The suspect was last seen driving in a gray Dodge Charger.
