MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is currently looking for a woman accused of a shooting during a road rage incident on I-240 Tuesday morning.

According to police, on June 11 around 11:25 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault at I-240 and Lamar Avenue.

The victim stated she was driving home when she was involved in a road rage incident with a woman in a black Chevrolet Cobalt.

“That was the saddest most terrifying event I have ever been in in my life,” the victim said. “I was initially thinking something was going on with the car, let me see what’s wrong. I said, ‘It’s ok, let’s just go on’ and I continued driving. Next thing you know they have pulled up on the driver’s side, a clear shot to my head. If she would have shot, I would have been dead.”

MPD says the suspect pointed a black handgun at the victim, firing multiple shots. The victim’s car was struck by gunfire twice, police say.

“I started hearing pop, pop and I looked and they were out the window shooting,” the victim said.

At that time, the victim says she was forced to exit the interstate and the suspect followed her onto South Third Street.

When the victim’s car became immobile, she parked at the Lota Burger and ran for her life.

The suspect allegedly started chasing her around the building until she was able to get away in a bystander’s vehicle for help.

“I’m like somebody please help me and it was a guy who helped me, he was my angel,” she said.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
