MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Radio station KIX 106 announced Friday the death of Mark Billingsley, who was a popular DJ for the station for more than 20 years.

Billingsley had a medical emergency Nov. 23 and was not able to recover, according to a GoFundMe page set up by friends of “Memphis Mark” Billingsley.

He was 53.

“He is loved by many and has touched each of our lives in many different ways,” Holly Rome Perritt wrote on the page. “We all miss that wonderful voice, his laughter, his love!”

KIX 106 is asking for supporters to respect Billingsley’s family during this time and to make a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.

The GoFundMe page is also open for donations.

Information on funeral arrangements is forthcoming.
