Lyft to begin operations at Memphis International immediately

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority has agreed to allow the ride-sharing company Lyft begin operations at the airport immediately.

The agreement came after the state passed the Transportation Network Company Services Act, that allowed companies like Lyft to operate without a permit from the City of Memphis.

“Throughout this process, our goal has been to find a solution that allowed companies such as Lyft to operate at MEM” said Scott Brockman, MSCAA President and CEO. “This agreement not only does that, but also ensures a level playing field with existing commercial services. We are excited that our passengers will now have more transportation options.”

According to the agreement, the airport will get $2 per ride.
