MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Malco Theaters plans to reopen six movie cinemas that were closed due to the new coronavirus outbreak in Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky.

The Memphis-based cinema chain says the six theaters are set to reopen on Monday. The theaters had been closed for safety reasons as a response to the virus outbreak.

Theaters set to reopen next week are located in Ridgeland, Olive Branch, Southaven and Tupelo, Mississippi; Smyrna, Tennessee; and Owensboro, Kentucky.

Malco says additional locations are scheduled to reopen each week, through July 16.

The family-owned chain operates 35 movie theaters in the South.
