Man accused of pulling gun on driver and granddaughter on Highway 385

Jeffrey Miller

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — A Germantown man had a court appearance Friday following a road rage incident.

Police say Jeffrey Miller fired shots from his car. He’s charged with aggravated assault.

Court documents say the victim was driving on Highway 385 with his granddaughter Tuesday afternoon.

The victim said he was driving east bound when Miller swerved into his lane and drove up to his car at a high rate of speed, then pointed a gun at him.

The frightened grandfather exited the highway near Ridgeway and said he heard several gunshots.

Investigators matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle to Miller and arrested him. Officers searched Miller’s car and found a BB gun.

“I’m surprised we have somebody in our neighborhood that would be involved in something like that,” Miller’s neighbor Herbert Goodman said.

Although none of the neighbors WREG spoke with personally know Miller, they were all in disbelief.

“It’s a hard thing to bite your tongue and not say anything. But you have to look out for their well-being and just know that a lot of people in this world are just crazy,” another neighbor said.

Miller admitted to being involved in a road rage incident, but denied having a gun at the time.

WREG visited Miller’s home in Germantown to see if anyone would talk. But before we could even finish asking for their side of the story a woman shut the door.
