MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing attempted first-degree murder charges after police say he shot his child’s mother over the weekend.
On Friday, a female victim was brought to Methodist South. She was admitted with what appeared to be gunshots to her abdomen and arm.
She told an officer that “Randolph shot me.”
She was taken by airwing to Regional One Hospital and required emergency surgery.
A male witness came to Raines Station and told officers he was with the victim at an address on Graceland when they were approached by her child’s father, Jason Randolph. He said that Randolph allegedly assaulted him and the victim.

The witness said he was taking the victim to Raines Police Station when he noticed Randolph was following them in his car.
When the witness attempted to turn into Raines Station, Randolph allegedly fired a shot from a handgun which struck the car and then the victim in the stomach.
The witness drove the victim to Methodist South.
Officers said the witness’ car appeared to have a bullet hole in the passenger side door.
Later that day, officers located Randolph at a residence in the 4000 block of Pine Ridge Cove. He was taken into custody without incident.
According to the police report, officers found a gray Taurus 9mm G2C in the bedroom under a pillow.
Randolph has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
